FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football has had time to reflect on its shortcomings after its defeat to Stanford by a score of 20-13 two weeks ago. This was not the result that the Seminole fans were hoping for, as Florida State now has four straight losses. They welcome in a Wake Forest squad that they are favored by 10.5 points by various oddsmakers.

This is a situation where the fan base is starting to doubt head football coach Mike Norvell and his squad. This is understandable, since Florida State has a 5-15 record over the last 20 games.

Individuals are starting to lose hope in Florida State football until a change is made at head coach. While I am not holding the pitchfork for his job, I understand that there is a proud standard with this football program that needs to be upheld.

FAN TURNOUT

The fan perception of the program is likely low after having a 2-10 season in 2024 and now having to battle through four straight losses. The frustration is starting to set in, and I fear that the attendance for this game could turn into a boo-fest the day after Halloween.

The truth of the matter is that this squad is not consistent enough, and something has to give as they look to get back on the right track like they were when they beat Alabama in the season opener.

You can find tickets to the game in a variety of third-party markets for as low as $6. There is nothing like Doak Campbell Stadium at night, seeing Chief Osceola and Renegade plant the spear at midfield during the pre-game.

However, Doak Campbell Stadium went through renovations where the capacity number went down to around 70,000. Will it be close to full capacity for this one?

Well, it is Homecoming in Tallahassee, so parents and previous alumni will show up, but there will be irritated fans that will be nitpicking every little aspect of the game. However, I could see the crowd being around the 75% full capacity rate for a game that Florida State desperately needs to win.
