Who are some prospects that the Seminoles want to rely on in the 2024 cycle?

Florida State football seemed to have a productive 2024 recruiting class, which ranked as the 11th-best cycle in the country. This was coming after a 2023 season that resulted in an undefeated regular season and a conference championship (and unfortunately a College Football Playoff snub).

This was supposed to be the recruiting class that would turn around the Seminoles for sustainable success. However, over the past couple of weeks, we have seen Florida State's 2024 class diminish in size.

There were players that the coaching staff probably didn't want to see enter the transfer portal, such as Luke Kromenhoek (transferred to Mississippi State last offseason), Landen Thomas, and even Elijah Moore.

However, it shouldn't be all doom-and-gloom in Tallahassee with the youngster. Transfers happen, but the Seminoles cannot let this get out of hand. Here are three players that Florida State should be focusing on retaining from the 2024 class.

WR LAWAYNE MCCOY

Lawayne McCoy is a wide receiver that caught his stride at the end of the 2025 season. The former four-star prospect from the Miami area is a guy that the Seminoles can use all over the field. McCoy ended the season on a high note in the finale against the Gators, where he had six receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown (according to ESPN Stats and Info). They have to surround the offense with playmakers.

WR MICAHI DANZY

When four-star athlete Micahi Danzy was grabbed from the Tallahassee area, it was thought that the speedster would be an explosive running back. However, in his true freshman campaign in 2024, the coaching staff decided to switch him to wide receiver. That move paid dividends to his skill set. Danzy had 787 total yards and six touchdowns this past season (according to ESPN Stats and Info). The sky is the limit for the dynamic athlete.

TE/DE AMAREE WILLIAMS

Florida State was lucky to get involved in Amaree Williams's recruitment, where he was a top prospect in the 2025 cycle, but he decided to reclassify to 2024. The staff wanted to use Williams as a tight end in his freshman year while his frame is still developing in the trenches. However, the Seminoles started to use the West Palm Beach native as a pass rusher more in 2025. If they can combine him and the Desir Twins on the defensive line, it could be scary.
