CAM SMITH IS A STAR

Florida State baseball has had some incredible players in its impressive history. This year's version fell to a talented Oregon State team on the road in the Super Regionals, but it looks like head coach Link Jarrett has the squad headed in the right direction.

I think part of the continued success was because of the 2024 squad. They had their season end dramatically in the College World Series versus Tennessee when the umpire mistakenly didn't call the final strike to end the game then the Volunteers went on to win the series.

Do-it-all Cam Smith was on that special Florida State team. He has made his presence felt on the Houston Astros, after the Chicago Cubs must be kicking themselves for trading him away. The rookie is having an amazing last month, which has even caught the attention of the MLB Network's social media account.

CAL RALEIGH IS THE TALK OF THE LEAGUE

Former Florida State catcher Cal Raleigh is taking the league by storm for the Seattle Mariners. He was awarded the AL Player of June, where he recorded a .300 AVG, 11 HR, and 27 RBI.

Raleigh has progressively gotten better with the Mariners over time. The former Seminoles was drafted by the organization in the third round a couple of years ago. He is beginning to get more power to his bat as he has 33 homers in 84 games.

This doesn't look like a fluke, as he had 27 home runs in 2022, 30 in 2023, and 34 in 2024. It helps that he has made more contact this year as he has a .272 AVG this season.

Overall, Seminole fans have to be happy for both former Seminoles to shine in Major League Baseball.
