Top FSU EDGE target decommits from Alabama, but are Noles a real factor in the race?

I never trust top players from Alabama to leave that state

FSU football defensive ends coach Nick Williams has done a solid job of getting top defensive ends to show interest in the Noles since arriving from Syracuse. The defensive end position is of great importance, as FSU has lacked a real pass rush since Jared Verse’s final season in 2023.

A top target for the Noles at the position is back on the market after decommitting from the Alabama Crimson Tide. Four-star Jabarrius Garror committed to Alabama over the Noles in July 2024. However, FSU has steadily been in the mix for the Alabama native.

They got him on campus twice in the spring of 2025, the FSU Elite Camp in Summer 2025, and had him on campus for the upset win over Alabama in the 2025 season opener.

They also had him on campus for the first Junior Day in January 2026. That was a lot of visits for someone committed elsewhere, so it was good to see he finally decommitted. The real question is, are the Noles a real threat in his recruitment? It seems like in-state Auburn has picked up some steam lately.

IF FSU were to pull this off it would be a massive win on the recruiting trail

He has official visits set for Auburn on May 29, Texas A&M on June 5, Texas on June 12, and Alabama set for June 18. Will he keep the Alabama official visit after decommitting? Will he replace Alabama, or will he replace them with FSU?

Garror ranks as the No. 106 player and No. 12 EDGE nationally. Top players from Alabama don’t typically leave that state to come to FSU, just see Keldrick Faulk in recent years.

If FSU gets an official visit, that will get my attention somewhat. However, until then, I'll take everything else with a grain of salt.
