Florida State football ranks as the 20th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. The Seminoles finished with a 2-10 record, which head football coach Mike Norvell stated that major changes were needed.

The fan base did not know what to expect since he had previously promoted continuity and process. However, this was a dire time for Norvell in his sixth season with the program.

The Seminole faithful was fully anticipating prospects to go elsewhere during the Early Signing Period. Individuals were numb to the pain with prospects such as five-star generational talent Travis Hunter flipping to Jackson State.

With that being said, Norvell and his newly formed coaching staff knew that recruiting had to be a point of emphasis. They had secured the likes of running back Ousmane Kromah, wide receivers Jayvan Boggs, Teriq Mallory, and Tre'Shaun Gelsey, offensive tackle Sean Poret, defensive ends Tylon Lee and LaJesse Harrold, and cornerback Shamar Arnoux.

There are still a few prospects that they are waiting on to make their decision during the normal Signing Day Period in February. The Seminoles' coaching staff is still extending offers to prospects. One recruit that fans might have an interest in that the Seminoles got a Christmas Day offer for is cornerback Antonio Cromartie Jr. from Carrollton, Georgia.

That name might sound familiar as Cromartie Jr's father (Antonio Cromartie) played for the Seminoles from 2001-2004. I realize that some fans might wonder why Florida State offered the legacy recruit with him being unranked, but the defensive back has grown his frame to 6'1".

Cromartie Jr. had a productive senior season where he had 85 total tackles, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one interception.

Schools are now allowed to offer 105 scholarships instead of the regular 85 allotment. I believe that this is worth the investment since the Seminoles have three defensive backs in the 2025 cycle with Gregory Thomas, Shamar Arnoux, and Max Redmon. The legacy recruit could be a game-changer if he continues to blossom with his frame.
