DB EDWIN JOSEPH JR.

As we all know, Florida State's 2024 football season was something that you want to erase from your memory. There isn't any shame in that, as I know the coaching staff and players want to do the same.

As horrible as it transpired, there were bright spots from the squad. One of which was redshirt freshman defensive back Edwin Joseph Jr. He was a former four-star prospect from Chaminade-Madonna Prep, so the expectations were relatively high for him.

One moment that I know Florida State fans remember was his jarring hit on special teams in the season opener versus Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland. It set the tone for him for the remainder of the year. Joseph Jr. stated during a practice during the 2024 season: “If you don’t want to be here no more, go home!” He was trying to be a leader in a dark time.

The defensive back position group is having some turnover with players such as Azareye'h Thomas, Fentrell Cypress III, and Kevin Knowles III moving on from the program due to graduation. As a result, Joseph Jr. was awarded the No. 3 jersey number, which was once worn by Kevin Knowles III.

I am glad to see him wearing 3 now, instead of 33.
