This would be a great get for Florida State football's 2026 recruiting class

Florida State could have a good 2026 recruiting class if this were to happen.

Florida State football has not had the best season, after opening up with beating Alabama by a score of 31-17. The Seminoles wanted to have a great start after the 2-10 record, but the slump put the fan base in a horrible mindset, since the decade has not been kind to the university.

Many college football teams are searching for a new leader in the football program, but Florida State made the announcement that they would retain head football coach Mike Norvell for the 2026 season.

One of the biggest downfalls is that he has not had his teams ready for playing on the road as well as roster construction with high school recruiting.

Obviously, the transfer portal is something that is new in college football and teams are still getting used to the new landscape. However, when it was starting to emerge, Coach Norvell had been one of the more proactive members in acquiring talent from there.

There is a downside to that roster management in the high school ranks, where it took a negative effect of transfers starting over recruits, then the youngsters navigated to other schools. This isn't to say that the Seminoles need to be like Clemson and Dabo Swinney with exclusively not using the portal.

Florida State ranks as the fourteenth-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. This isn't where the fan base wants to be when the expectation is being in the top-ten. However, the 2025 recruiting class has been a huge part of this football team, with the youngsters making significant contributions.

The Early Signing Period begins on Wednesday, December 3rd. It is a quick turnaround with the Seminoles just playing Florida on Saturday. However, the program has to make the most of the opportunity. One prospect that I hope that the Seminoles flip is four-star defensive Kamron Wilson from Miami, Florida. He is currently committed to the Syracuse Orange.

The Orange were obliterated by Notre Dame this past Saturday by a score of 70-7. Wilson has visited the Seminoles on multiple occasions, and it was always odd that he pledge to Syracuse in the first place, even though Fran Brown is a great recruiter. It should be noted that the pass rusher is a bit undersized at 6'5" and 210 pounds, but it is a workable frame.

Florida State already have seven defensive linemen in their class, but given how a program can never have too many prospects in the trenches. This will be the core foundation for turning the Seminoles into a consistent winning product.
