Florida State had a flurry of commits over the past week with its 2026 recruiting class. Most commits thought FSU retaining Mike Norvell for the 2026 season was a positive, but that didn’t keep its best offensive line commit from leaving the class on Monday night.

Composite four-star offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks announced his de-commitment. Parks committed to FSU in July. It was a big win for the Noles at the time after missing on a target who committed to Auburn.

Parks is massive, at 6’5” and 310 pounds. He is like most offensive linemen and would need some time to develop and wouldn’t play as a freshman. However, the offensive line unit has been an area where FSU has struggled to recruit good talent and develop players.

There’s a reason why FSU’s entire starting lineup in 2025 came from the portal. The Noles have some young talent that’s unproven, but FSU will likely have to hit the portal again in the off-season.

FSU has a few offensive linemen committed, but they are projects who’ll probably need at least 1-2 years to develop. FSU was attempting to flip an offensive lineman from Syracuse a while back, and it’s getting late in the recruiting cycle. It’s like a never-ending cycle with this unit under multiple head coaches.

We’ll see what happens over the next couple of weeks. It’s not clear if Gus Malzahn will return next year, and nobody knows if Herb Hand is tied to him since they’ve worked together for most of their career.

Here’s to hoping FSU can hold on to the remaining commitments over the next week.
