Florida State will be taking on the Clemson Tigers tonight at 7:00 PM EST on the ACC Network. This will be a road matchup that the Seminoles cannot take lightly. Even though the Tigers don't have a number ranking next to their name, it should still be noted that head football coach Dabo Swinney has championship experience. Nonetheless, this isn't a Clemson squad from 2016 or 2018.

This is uncharted territory for the fan base because Florida State has been wildly inconsistent this year, and to make matters worse, the administration has the "comprehensive assessment" lingering at the end of the year with head football coach Mike Norvell.

This is a matchup between a 4-4 Florida State and 3-5 Clemson teams. This probably doesn't inspire the general college football public, but it is vitally important for both sides as they look to get back on the right track.

FSU OFFENSE FINDING A GROOVE?

One of the more surprising aspects of the Seminoles' victory against Wake Forest was the insertion of redshirt sophomore running back Samuel Singleton Jr. in the starting lineup. Many fans didn't see it coming, as the Jacksonville, Florida, native hasn't had that many reps on the year.

We will see if offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn can be able to scheme together a game plan to establish the running game against Clemson in the next game, which has a very talented front seven that is filled with four and five-star prospects.

The coaching staff has to be thankful for picking up former USC wide receiver transfer Duce Robinson this offseason. According to ESPN Stats and Information, Robinson has recorded 34 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns during the 2025 season.

Per Seminoles.com, the pass catcher is 322 yards away from tying in tenth in Florida State school history with receiving yards in a season, with Kelvin Benjamin (2013) and Anquan Boldin (2002).

Robinson hasn't been the most consistent piece in the Seminoles' offense, but he remains a favorite target for quarterback Thomas Castellanos when he needs an explosive play.
