One of the staff changes I suggested a few days ago has come to pass. FSU quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz has accepted an offensive coordinator/QB coach role with the University of Buffalo.
They made it official with an announcement late Saturday night:

FSU hasn’t had a good quarterback since Jordan Travis, and former FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham was responsible for most of his development. That development began to take shape in the back half of the 2021 season before Dillingham left the program.
Tokarz may not have had much say in who the quarterback was going to be in 2024 or 2025. However, he inherited two experienced quarterbacks who did not play well. DJ Uiagalelei regressed significantly from the season he had with Oregon State in 2023. Thomas Castellanos had his best game of the season against Alabama in the season opener, and never came close to playing at that level the rest of the season.
However, the more telling thing about Tony Tokarz is Brock Glenn, a player he recruited and signed out of high school. Glenn was thrust into action as a freshman when Jordan Travisi got hurt. There was an expectation that he would struggle without any experience.
However, Glenn looks about the same as a redshirt senior as he did as a true freshman, with a much better offensive line and good offensive weapons. Glenn was already passed up by freshman Kevin Sperry before the 2025 season started.
Tokarz's leaving for another job gives Mike Norvell the opportunity to make a better hire. The question is, will anyone worth anything come to FSU under the circumstances of Mike Norvell being on the hottest of hot seats going into 2026?
