This embarrassing Florida State stat should be enough to fire Mike Norvell alone

The last two seasons of Florida State football have run this program into the ground, and the Mike Norvell stats prove it.

When Florida State hired Mike Norvell from Memphis, he was an up-and-coming head coach who had done some amazing things with a Group of Five program and seemed ready to run a power conference program. In his first two seasons, Norvell was simply rebuilding the program, but in year three, it felt he had done it; he had brought Florida State football back.

In year three under Norvell, the Seminoles went 10-3 with a win in the Cheez-It Bowl over Oklahoma. Then, in year four in 2023, the Seminoles were completely snubbed from the College Football Playoff back when it was just four teams with an undefeated record, but lost their starting quarterback.

Since then, Florida State football has returned to the years of mediocracy, and fans are over it. After being so overhyped last season and finishing 2-10, the Seminoles needed to come in and make something happen to help save Norvell's job. Instead, Florida State tricked everyone into thinking they took a step forward with a big win over Alabama to start the season, but it has been downhill since.

The Seminoles finally got an ACC win in over a year after beating Wake Forest in Week 10, but a loss to a Clemson team that is struggling just as much has fans over the Norvell experiment.

Mike Norvell's wins in the ACC over the past two years are a sign that his seat is scorching

Since 2024, Mike Norvell and Florida State have a whopping two wins in the ACC, when UConn, a team not even in the ACC, has more wins. That is one of the most embarrassing stats, especially with how historically bad UConn's football program has been over the years.

It is time for Norvell to go, and there is no one in college football, well, except Luke Fickell with Wisconsin, whose seat is hotter.
