These are most definitely strengths for FSU football.

FSU FOOTBALL OUTLOOK

Florida State football will be taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th, at 3:30 PM EST on ABC in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles will be looking to turn the page after a major letdown in 2024, where they finished with a 2-10 record.

Some of the fan base is so pessimistic during this offseason. I get that the Seminoles are a proud program that has conference and national championship standards, but we have to rip the band-aid off and move forward.

Quarterback Thomas Castellanos made the comments about the Crimson Tide, and some individuals didn't want their season-opening opponent bulletin board material. However, Castellanos is a confident player, and Alabama doesn't have legendary coach Nick Saban there anymore. This is Florida State, and you want the players to be confident in the team and their abilities.

Through all of the negative aspects this offseason, I want to highlight strengths that fans can rely on during the 2025 season for the Florida State Seminoles' football team.

ABILITY TO RUN THE FOOTBALL

I know that Florida State football fans heard this before, but the Seminoles will run early and often. After hiring Gus Malzahn as the offensive coordinator, it is assumed that Florida State will have success in that department. Adding transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos, as well as rushers Gavin Sawchuk and Ousmane Kromah, should give fans a positive outlook.

DEFENSIVE BACK ROOM

Florida State football had a rough 2024 season, but it wasn't because of the secondary. Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has been a monster on the recruiting trail. Then the Seminoles added safeties coach Evan Cooper this offseason. Transfer cornerback Jeremiah Wilson is considered one of the best man-to-man defenders in the country. While the position group is young, it doesn't lack talent.

OFFENSIVE LINE WILL BE IMPROVED

I don't think that Florida State's offensive line will be much worse than a season ago. The Seminoles were believed to have a veteran group that could help elevate the offense. That didn't happen as former offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins is now at LSU as an assistant coach. In comes veteran coach Herb Hand as Florida State looks to make its presence felt for opposing defenses.
