Son of former NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is visiting Florida State this weekend.
2015: Larry Fitzgerald's game-winning touchdown in overtime capped a wild finish in a 26-20 win for the Cardinals over the Packers. The Packers forced overtime when Aaron Rodgers completed a fourth-and-20 pass for 60 yards to Jeff Janis, and then a 41-yard Hail Mary to Janis with five seconds remaining for the tying touchdown.

Florida State already has two wide receiver prospects in its 2026 recruiting class with four-star prospects Efrem White and Darryon Williams. This is especially important given that the Seminoles need playmakers for five-star quarterback commit Brady Smigiel to throw the football to.

Even though Smigiel has had communications with schools such as Washington and South Carolina, he has still stayed pledged to Florida State. The talented signal-caller should allow wide receivers to flourish in the offensive scheme to give them opportunities.

Even with White and Williams in the fold, it is always recommended to get other playmakers in the class. If anything taught us about last season, it is the fact that you can never have too many playmakers. The Seminoles' offense was one of the worst in the country in 2024.

Florida State seems to want to turn the page as it hired former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn to be its new offensive coordinator. Even though Malzahn likes to establish the running game, fans think that the wide receivers might not be involved in the offense, which could turn wide receivers away from the program.

That has not been the case as Class of 2026 three-star wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald from Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona will be visiting Florida State this weekend for Junior Day.

Fitzgerald recorded 52 receptions for 720 yards and nine touchdowns during the 2024 season. His last name might sound familiar as he is the son of former legendary NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

It should be an exciting weekend for the Seminoles and this coaching staff as they look to flex their recruiting muscles and get the 2026 class to be something to remember.
