FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football is trying to gain some momentum to cap off the 2025 season. The Seminoles hit it off with a bang to start the year by defeating Alabama in the opener by a score of 31-17. However, that victory felt like such a long time ago.

Florida State is trying its best to save the job security of head football coach Mike Norvell. The fan base has expressed concern with the future of the program, after finishing with a 2-10 record in 2024. Then the four straight losses occurred, and some individuals wondering if they would mail it in.

However, Florida State come off a bye week to beat a lowly Wake Forest opponent (that surprisingly beat SMU *sorry Miami*) by a score of 42-7. It doesn't get any easier in this matchup, as the Seminoles travel to the Clemson Tigers.

This isn't the same Clemson squad from a couple of years ago. However, head football coach Dabo Swinney has championship-level experience with talented players. They have a 3-5 record, and Coach Swinney mentioning the idea of being fired (that won't happen) in the post-game presser in the game against Duke.

ANALYSIS

Various oddsmakers have the Seminoles listed as 2.5-point underdogs in their road matchup to Clemson at 7 PM EST. This isn't a shock, since the Seminoles have not captured a victory on the road since their 2023 meeting against the arch-rival Florida Gators.

Nothing would make me happier to see Clemson to get all jumpy getting in their charter buses to go around Death Valley to be able to complete their tradition of touching Howard's Rock before running down the hill and then getting smacked in the mouth by the Seminoles.

Maybe I am just having wishful thinking, but this seems like a spot that Florida State could take advantage of one of the worst Clemson teams in a while.
