Why fans should feel comfortable betting Florida State over Clemson on Saturday

The Florida State money line is looking mighty tempting.

FSU FOOTBALL FINDING A GROOVE?

It is reckless to suggest that Florida State has found its groove, after winning one conference game in the last 400 days, but sometimes the fan base has to cling on to anything and everything positive associated with the program.

That is the reality of the Seminoles right now. As it stands, this is a squad that likes head football coach Mike Norvell and wants to fight for him. They have heard the rumblings and whispers amongst the fan base, and even saw the statement by the administration about there being a comprehensive assessment at the end of the year.

It is apparent that the Seminoles will have to go prove it. However, it won't be easy as Florida State travels to Death Valley on Saturday to take on the Clemson Tigers at 7 PM EST on the ACC Network. Head football coach Dabo Swinney's program is also limping to the finish line with an overall record of 3-5.

HOME COOKING FOR CLEMSON

With that being said, this is still a team that has talent on its roster. DraftKings Sportsbook is still siding with Clemson so far, as they are projected to be 2.5-point favorites. However, how much of them being the home team has factored into the number?

Clemson doesn't have the same excitement as it once did in its home stadium, as the Tigers have lost six straight games against Power Four opponents in their confines. Personally, I believe Death Valley is getting too much love here.

This seems like a nightmare situation for Clemson's secondary, that has struggled this season. The Tigers are 102nd in the FBS in most passing yards allowed (244.5). Wide receivers such as Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy have to be licking their chops. This isn't to say that quarterback Thomas Castellanos is the most skilled passer in college football, but the chunk plays should be there.

Clemson's offensive rushing attack is non-existent, where they average 123.8 rushing yards per game (109th in the FBS). Converted wide receiver Adam Randall has had 522 rushing yards on the season, but it isn't the production that the Tigers wanted.

If Florida State finds a method to generate big-play gains off their running game and make Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik uncomfortable in the pocket after eliminating their ground attack, this could be a successful day in the betting landscape for those that rock with the Seminoles.
