FSU basketball coach Luke Loucks has done several good things since getting hired a couple of months ago. He has been busy building his roster full of experienced transfer players and a few high school guys with potential.
He only has a few spots remaining, and at the same time, he's been busy completing his staff of assistant coaches. Loucks poached one of his assistants, Amorrow Morgan, from ACC opponent California less than a month ago.
Morgan's hire was officially announced on April 2nd by FSU, but that marriage appears to have already dissolved. According to a report by Knoxnews.com, Amorrow is already jumping to the SEC for the same role at Tennessee.

It's wack, but a by-product of a few things. The SEC is now superior to the ACC in basketball in reality and perception, and they can likely pay more money.
FSU basketball is in rebuilding mode after several lackluster years under Leonard Hamilton and finishing 17-14, 8-12 ACC in his final year last year. Tennessee (30-8, 12-6 SEC) advanced to the Elite Eight before losing to Houston.
I'm sure it wasn't a difficult decision for a young coach looking to fast-track his coaching career. However, it provides a bigger picture of how badly FSU needs to exit the ACC.
The ACC has always been a basketball conference and held the title, as superior for decades, but that ship has sailed as other conferences have signed better TV deals and coaching legends retired from ACC schools. The allure isn't there anymore to attract top talent, and it won't be long before this type of stuff starts happening in football.
I suppose the silver lining in this is Coach Loucks seems to have an eye for good, young coaching talent, but he'll have to dig into his bag of tricks again to find the next best thing and hope this doesn't continue to happen.
