There's not a ton of information coming out of spring camp in Tallahassee. It seems like each year Mike Norvell tightens the screws a little more and fans are left wondering if the information they do get is legitimate.

However, there's one thing that would seem to be a safe bet: FSU needs leadership on the field and in the locker room and all fingers are pointing at Duce Robinson. The good news, according to On3's JD Pickell, is that Robinson is up for the challenge.

"I've been told this is Duce Robinson's football team. The thing you see in social media and the thing you hear from people is that he's taken on more of a vocal role," Pickell said during his YouTube webcast.

Duce Robinson is taking the lead in the FSU locker room

This is the only way to go for the Seminoles. Robinson is the best player on the team and he didn't come back to Tallahassee to suffer through another lost season or fail to win a road game or get his coach fired.

The issues with the culture at FSU were evident last season, but also a little overblown. It's easy to blame culture when things don't go well, but in reality FSU had a lack of leadership more than a bunch of bad apples. They had players that were looking for a leader. Tommy Castellanos tried to take the role, but it probably didn't register like it should've because he, like Robinson, was in his first year with the program.

But Robinson isn't new anymore. He's in his second year, and he's coming off a 1,000-yard season. He could've gone anywhere he wanted after last season, but he chose to stay at FSU because he wants to end his career the right way and possibly save some jobs. When Robinson speaks in 2026, everyone in that locker room is going to listen. He's earned that respect through the way he goes about his business. It's a model that a team desperate to win should follow.
