BUILDING THE TRENCHES

I see a ton of Florida State football fans complaining on social media that four-star running back target Carsyn Baker committed to the arch-rival Florida Gators. While you never want to see talented prospects pledge to the Gators, it doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I prefer to prioritize prospects for the trenches on the offensive and defensive side of the football. The Seminoles need to beef up their roster and have a physical presence about themselves to strike fear in opposing offenses and defenses.

There is some good news surrounding the future of the program in that regard, as Noles247's Brendon Sonnone put in a crystal ball prediction in favor of Florida State for Class of 2026 four-star Tico Crittendon from Lithonia, Georgia.

The Seminoles already got a massive development this morning with the crystal ball prediction on five-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon.

CRITTENDON'S IMPACT ON FSU FOOTBALL

This would be a massive get for defensive coordinator Tony White's multiple 3-3-5 defensive scheme. The 6'4" and 300-pound defensive tackle would be someone that would be difficult for offensive linemen to move around.

Fans were worried about defensive line coach Terrance Knighton's ability to recruit, but he has now landed a three-star defensive lineman in Wihtlley Cadeau and could be securing Crittendon soon.

The Georgia native was expected to officially visit Tennessee and then make his decision on July 4th, but we will see if the Seminoles' visit for Crittendon changed his mind to decide to commit to the good guys.

I know that the coaching staff wants to allow prospects to visit other schools, but with Crittendon being pursued by Tennessee and Georgia, the Seminoles need to find a way to lock him into the class and not allow him to visit the other institutions.

This is a recruit that gets me excited about Florida State football recruiting for the 2026 cycle.
