The College Football 25 video game is right around the corner as it will be officially released on July 19th (early access for July 16th). It is finally here as everyone across the globe will be glued to their gaming systems for the foreseeable future.

Florida State football fans have to be excited to see their squad in the game after accomplishing an undefeated regular season and a conference championship during the 2023 season. While I know that the College Football Playoff Committee snubbed the Seminoles of the opportunity to compete for a national championship, the program is starting to generate sustainable success.

There are a ton of newcomers that the coaching staff added to the team. There are no longer players such as Jordan Travis, Trey Benson, Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, and Renardo Green running the tunnel in garnet and gold.

However, that should not be a reason to fear as that is the typical college football landscape in today's world where players graduate, declare for the NFL Draft, and enter the transfer portal. Head football coach Mike Norvell understands the investment that it takes to overhaul the roster year in and year out.

Speaking of the video game, I already released that defensive end Patrick Payton is listed as a 90 overall rating in College Football 25. However, three more ratings were released: Azareye'h Thomas is an 89, Fentrell Cypress II is an 88, and Omarion Cooper is an 82.

I do not believe that Thomas, Cypress II, and Cooper are the top three defensive backs. There is no need to get out the pitchforks in this situation. I believe that they are just highlighting three on the roster. Shyheim Brown and Earl Little Jr. should be rated higher than Cooper's 82 overall.

Overall, I am glad that Azareye'h Thomas is getting his respect. It makes me feel good that the College Football 25 ratings team watched the film and gave him an appropriate rating. Even though Thomas only started one game last year, he blossomed as a player and became a staple in the rotation. He looked very good in the spring practice and is looking to become the leader in the Seminoles' defensive backfield. I think he has the chance to be a top-fifteen draft pick (I know that is bold).
