DE ZION GRADY

Florida State has secured a flip commitment from four-star Javion Hilson from Cocoa (FL). He was once committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, Saban's retirement seemed to play a factor in his decision.

The Seminoles were only able to secure one defensive end prospect in signings with four-star DD Holmes. They could eventually get four-star Amaree Williams, who will be deciding within the next two weeks. The coaching staff unfortunately have missed on prospects such as five-star LJ McCray (signed with Florida).

The failures of missing out on a variety of prospects in previous recruiting cycles have been worrisome. The good news is that the Seminoles have succeeded in locating high-quality talent via the transfer portal. However, the coaching staff has to find the find mixture of securing talent in the portal and the high school ranks.

One prospect that I believe Florida State has a chance on is five-star defensive end Zion Grady from Enterprise High School in Enterprise (AL). This will mark the first visit since he decommitted from Alabama on January 17th. This is an opportunity that the Seminoles need to capitalize on with Grady since it is such a position of great need.
