WR LAWAYNE MCCOY

Florida State football really did a fantastic job with acquiring talented pieces for the program when they signed four above-average wide receiver prospects in its 2024 recruiting class with Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Elijah Moore, and Lawayne McCoy.

The talk of camp has been about Moore and McCoy standing out. After Wednesday's practice, Papuchis mentioned that they have been trying the Miami, Florida native at punt returner.

McCoy has the speed and quickness to be successful. I am not sure if they will have to rely on him as a wide receiver in 2024. However, Malik Benson has been the most consistent option and they are still trying to find options alongside him.

If McCoy doesn't see the field much as a wide receiver (at least early on), I could see the coaching staff putting him as a punt returner just to let him acclimated to the collegiate game. I like the idea if he isn't relied upon heavily.

All in all, I believe Jaylin Lucas is the best option between the three to be the punt returner.
