Should FSU fans worry about the lack of commitments for the 2025 cycle in February?

FSU football currently possesses the thirteenth-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. The Seminoles have acquired four prospects in the fold such as five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.

However, the program has only secured two prospects in the last three months. Should FSU fans worry about the lack of commitments at this time?

The Seminoles are riding high after their magical campaign in 2023 where Florida State accomplished an undefeated regular season and an ACC Championship. Everything that they wanted to accomplish last season was ultimately achieved (aside from making it to the College Football Playoff, which was out of their control).

Fellow ACC opponent Clemson is ranked first in the conference with their recruiting ranking. They have secured nine four-star prospects in the fold thus far. Should Florida State fans worry that this coaching staff is not securing prospects at a high level even with their recent success on the field?

Ultimately, I do not believe that Seminole fans should be in panic mode. The program is set up nicely with a variety of prospects. I even wrote about three prospects who could be on the verge of making it official soon.

As a society, we live in a microwave where we typically want results to happen quickly. However, the coaching staff is doing its best to ensure that the prospects that they bring in are the right fit for the program. Recruiting is an ever-changing process where teenagers are making one of the biggest decisions of their lifetime. Plus, the recruiting target board is constantly changing.

If history repeats itself, the Seminoles should have some momentum around the Garnet and Gold Spring Showcase in April. That would allow the coaching staff to properly evaluate its options heading into the Mike Norvell camps in the summer.

Fans seem to panic every year about Florida State not getting recruits early on in the process. As a result, the Seminoles then get about 80% of their recruiting class filled right before the season then the discussion shifts elsewhere. The moral of the story is to breathe, the coaching staff's recruiting abilities are fine.
