Score prediction/analysis for the Florida State versus Clemson matchup
Florida State is back in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium after taking a horrific loss to the SMU Mustangs on the road by a score of 42-16. It wasn't a pretty performance as the Seminoles were projected a 6.5-point underdog.
To make matters worse, the Seminoles welcome in the red-hot Clemson Tigers who have been blowing out their opponents after losing their season opener versus the Georgia Bulldogs. Quarterback Cade Klubnik has played like one of the best signal-callers in the conference over the past couple of weeks.
Florida State fans were imagining the Seminoles' matchup versus Clemson to potentially be a host of College Gameday. While the Tigers held up to the bargain, Florida State drastically underperformed as they have lost to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, and SMU so far this season (and it doesn't seem like it will stop).
The Seminoles' offensive unit have been abysmal this year as signal-caller DJ Uiagalelei has made the fan base cover their eyes with his play. The transfer was supposed to bridge the gap between the younger options of Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, and Trever Jackson to get them ready for 2025.
However, Uiagalelei broke his finger on his throwing hand in the fourth quarter of the SMU loss. As a result, redshirt freshman Brock Glenn will be starting in the game versus Clemson. Glenn has been thrown into some terrible situations as he started last year in the ACC Championship Game versus Louisville and the Orange Bowl loss against Georgia with all of the opt-outs.
Just like the Florida State fan base, we at ChopChat are not excited about this game at all. Personally, we are both wanting Glenn to showcase some flashes in the offense against one of the top defenses in the country. I'm saying prayers to those who will be attending Doak Campbell Stadium to watch the contest.
Taylor Devers: 34-13 Clemson
Kelvin Hunt: 45-17 Clemson
