Noles interested in Class of 2024 Michigan 4-star LB signee Jaden Smith
FSU football secured the twelfth-best recruiting class in the 2024 cycle. The Seminoles had a successful haul where four-star QB Luke Kromenhoek and four-star CB Charles Lester III headlined it.
However, the coaching staff was not able to land a variety of targets such as five-star WR Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State), five-star DL LJ McCray (Florida), and five-star S KJ Bolden (Georgia) during the Early Signing Period.
By some fans' standards, it seemed as though it was not a memorable time due to the lack of "big-time" commitments. Disclaimer, it should always be an excellent time for the supporters of the program to showcase excitement for the recruits and their loved ones during their special moment.
As I alluded to in a previous article, linebacker recruiting continues to be a talking point amongst the fan base. There is a conversation that revolves around there not being enough depth at the position or there isn't better recruiting in that area.
While I understand that some individuals want Florida State to go after another linebacker transfer (even after acquiring Alabama's Shawn Murphy), the coaching staff seems to be active in all of the possible avenues.
On Sunday afternoon, Class of 2024 four-star LB Jaden Smith from Charlotte (NC) requested a release from his Michigan Wolverines National Letter of Intent. Then according to a report from On3 on Tuesday afternoon, schools such as Florida State, USC, and Miami have expressed interest in Smith.
The talented linebacker was recruited by Virginia Tech and Kentucky before he ultimately chose to sign with the Wolverines. It is also understandable that Smith elected to open his recruitment up once again given that Michigan head football coach John Harbaugh took a job with the NFL.
This would be a major acquisition for the coaching staff to take advantage of to continue to solidify talented depth at the position.
