Noles are the team to beat for a highly-touted 4-star RB target
Florida State football conducted its Spring Showcase this past Saturday in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell, which is currently in the construction phase as they prepare for its completion before their 2025 season opener versus the Alabama Crimson Tide.
That did not stop several highly-touted prospects from visiting campus as the coaching staff looks to build upon the 2025 recruiting class. While the Seminoles have not secured any running back recruits during the cycle, Florida State has their sights set on a particular prospect.
Fans should closely monitor four-star running back Byron Louis from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida. During the 2023 season, he recorded 1,224 yards and 18 touchdowns. Teams such as Ohio State and Miami are still involved but the Seminoles continue to make an impression on Louis as he attended the Seminoles' Spring Showcase.
We at ChopChat conducted an interview with the Florida native as he continue to go through his recruitment process.
Q: How was your visit to Florida State this past weekend? Does anything stand out to you?
A: "Great! The group of guys that come back to show love to the younger guys. I'm really excited about the official visit next month."
Q: As you go through the decision-making process, when are you wanting to commit to the school of your choice?
A: "FSU is one of the top schools on my list. I'm just enjoying the process and my decision will be sometime after my official visits."
As reported previously, On3's Steve Wiltfong recently dropped an expert prediction in favor of the Seminoles for Louis. While the running back position isn't an immediate need at the moment compared to other pieces on the team, veterans such as Lawrence Toafili, Roydell Williams, and Caziah Holmes will be graduating after the 2024 season.
