Florida State has still not secured a commitment in its 2025 recruiting class since four-star defensive end Javion Hilson flipped his pledge from Alabama to the Seminoles in January after legendary head football coach Nick Saban retired.

It has been four months since the Seminoles got some good news. Even with the positive developments of the various crystal ball predictions in favor of Florida State, it still does not beat having the prospects in the fold of the recruiting class.

As much as fans want to complain about the recruiting efforts not being there with the class currently sitting below 40, individuals have to remind themselves that it is only May. The coaching staff is pushing to make the summer one to remember for this recruiting class.

There will be several highly-touted prospects on campus throughout the summer to get a feel of what the Seminoles have to offer. I believe that it is just a matter of time before the coaching staff gets hot on the recruiting trail (see expert prediction article for five-star offensive lineman Josh Petty).

The coaching staff talks about the importance of the tight end position in their offense. Head football coach Mike Norvell thinks the position is very versatile where they can line up as in-line blockers/receiving options, on the outside, in the slot, and even in the backfield.

Veteran Jaheim Bell was an important piece in last season's team where he was the third-leading receiver on the squad. However, he is now off to the NFL. Kyle Morlock is now expected to take the starting load at the position. While true freshman Landen Thomas could be someone who could be special, they need to continue to recruit talented pieces via the recruiting trail.

One name to monitor in the 2025 recruiting cycle is four-star tight end Hollis Davidson from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Georgia who recently de-committed from the Auburn Tigers. The last unofficial visit that he took was to Florida State.

He now has an official visit with the Seminoles during their massive June 21 recruiting weekend. This is an opportunity for the coaching staff to take advantage and secure a talented tight end prospect.
