FSU football is currently ranked as the 22nd-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. However, some fans are wondering when the Seminoles will get their next commitment as the program has not secured a prospect since four-star defensive end Javion Hilson flipped from Alabama in January.

The program has generated positive momentum with a variety of highly-touted prospects within this cycle. However, it has not been rainbows and sunshine all of the time as four-star safety target Darrell "Duke" Johnson Jr. committed to Alabama recently.

It is understandable since Johnson Jr. grew up a fan of the Crimson Tide, but he still had a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Seminoles. To make matters worse, Alabama has a new coaching staff who is led by head football coach Kalen DeBoer.

Florida State has recently gotten good recruiting news from Warchant's Matt LaSerre putting in an expert prediction for a four-star offensive lineman prospect. However, recruiting has so many ebbs and flows that it requires teenagers to make one of the most important decisions of their lifetimes.

Unfortunately, Florida State also had some disappointing updates on Monday where Noles247 Contributor Zach Blostein inserted a crystal ball prediction in favor of the home-state Auburn Tigers.

That is the danger of recruiting the state of Alabama prospects (see Keldric Faulk flipping to Auburn on Signing Day). Recruiting is an ever-changing process. Henderson informed On3's Chad Simmons recently that Florida State was the team to beat in his recruitment.

The Seminoles seemed to have the advantage with running backs coach Cadillac Williams parting ways with the Tigers. Plus, Henderson just visited Florida State this past weekend for their Legacy Day event. He went to the Plains the previous weekend.

The running back position should not be as prioritized with the Seminoles in this cycle given the talent in the room. The coaching staff seems content with what they have. Florida State must pick up recruits in the trenches this cycle.
