We at ChopChat have already voiced our displeasure with individuals such as Kirk Herbstreit and Greg McElroy for the antics that transpired in December with leaving an undefeated Florida State squad out of the College Football Playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama team.

McElroy once strongly supported what the Seminoles' team brought to the table even after the Jordan Travis injury. However, about five days before the selection committee was set to make their decision, his mood changed to feeling that Florida State did not deserve to be in the playoff.

It was a strange thought process shift that made many Seminole fans angry. As alluded in a previous article, McElroy singled out the fan base in a recent "Always College Football" podcast episode where he stated that Seminole fans were giving him one-star reviews on purpose.

While I admittedly also gave him a one-star review, it should be remembered that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Nonetheless, it is a tough pill to swallow for the fan base even though the even happened over seven months ago.

Head football coach Mike Norvell has always been a tremendous human being and wants to bring a positive light to the program. As much of my surprise, he made an appearance on the "Always College Football" podcast for an interview for over 30 minutes.

Major props to the Florida State Sports and Information team for allowing Norvell to interview with the individuals who single-handedly ruined his team's chances of competing for a national championship.

McElroy brought up the notion of how they need to move forward from the College Football Playoff snub. Here is what Norvell had to say about the question:

This was a great response by Norvell where he made sure that the efforts going forward were all about the team. He knows that he cannot re-live what happened last year. This is a different team that Norvell is excited about and thinks they can do wonderful things during the 2024 season.
