FSU football has not secured a running back in the 2025 recruiting cycle. However, running backs coach David Johnson has continued his success on the trail, especially last cycle when he acquired four-stars Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy.

The Seminoles are having to replace pieces such as Trey Benson, Rodney Hill, and CJ Campbell Jr. in the room. However, Florida State was able to add Alabama's Roydell Williams and Indiana's Jaylin Lucas via the transfer portal.

As most individuals know, the foundation of head football Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins's offensive scheme revolves around establishing the running game to open up the passing game.

Overall, the Seminoles have talented running back options at their disposal in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Notable targets include four stars Ousmane Kromah, Deandre Desinor, Alvin Henderson, and Byron Louis.

As it pertains to Louis, he has emerged as a prospect that the coaching staff is starting to showcase heavy interest. The talented back visited Florida State this past weekend for their Junior Day event. Even with just visiting recently, head football coach Mike Norvell decided to visit Louis at his high school (American Heritage High School).

Florida State has its foot in the door with American Heritage High School given that defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. used to be the head football coach at the school. The Seminoles have already obtained three transfers who used to go to American Heritage in defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. as well as defensive backs Earl Little Jr. and Davonte Brown.

While I understand that Louis has a crystal ball prediction in favor of Ohio State, the Seminoles are squarely in the mix for his recruitment. I believe that the American Heritage standout will likely visit for the Garnet and Gold Spring Showcase in April and the coaching staff will continue to push heavily for him.
