FSU football fans were discussing whether to start worrying about the Seminoles' ability to land high-quality transfers in the portal.

However, head football coach Mike Norvell has made a living off of his success in the transfer portal during his tenure at Florida State. Fans began discussing when would there be more transfer acquisitions. On Saturday morning, the coaching staff had only secured two prospects in Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr.

However, Saturday afternoon has been a phenomenal afternoon for the Seminoles as LSU wide receiver transfer Jalen Brown committed to Florida State. Just when you thought it could not get any better for the coaching staff, Alabama cornerback transfer Earl Little Jr. has now announced that he will be taking his talents to Tallahassee.

Just like Jones Jr. and Brown, this is a prime example of an acquisition where the coaching staff did not get the player to sign with their school during the recruiting process. However, the long-lasting relationships seem to play dividends as the Seminoles were able to get three young and talented pieces to their roster for the 2024 season.

While cornerback is not seen as a more high-priority need than defensive linemen or linebackers, the Florida State Seminoles are still having to replace contributors such as redshirt seniors Renardo Green and Jarrian Jones in 2024. Not to mention, junior Fentrell Cypress II has still not announced whether or not he will declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

I realize that Little Jr. only had 2 total tackles for the Crimson Tide in 2023. However, the South Florida native is still very young and has the potential to live up to the four-star ranking that he had during the 2022 recruiting cycle. He is finally reunited at Florida State with his former head football coach at American Heritage High School, Patrick Surtain Sr., who is now the defensive backs coach with the Seminoles.
