FSU softball (24-9, 7-2 ACC) completed its second ACC series sweep in as many weekends by defeating NC State Saturday afternoon. The Noles swept the Pittsburgh Panthers in the week before, but I should note those two teams are in last and second to last place in ACC play. FSU should have swept both teams and did, so that's a great sign. The Noles have another ACC bottom dweller next weekend when they travel to take on the Louisville Cardinals. It will be another opportunity to clinch another series to build its resume, while continuing to develop its identity, along with players perfecting their roles. That's been the theme this season with so many young players in key positions.

While NC State isn't a good team, the series highlighted growth from this FSU softball team. The Noles overcame adversity in the first game, trailing 4-1 going into the third inning. However, the Noles responded with a four-run fourth inning to retake the lead. Adversity struck again when NC State tied the game with a two-run home run, setting up Isa Torres's opportunity to walk off in style with the two-run home run. FSU blasted NC State in game two 8-0, and dominated much of the third game before allowing a few runs late. Here are my three major takeaways from the series.
