FSU listed at the top for talented 4-star South Florida WR prospect
Florida State has still not secured any wide receivers committed to pairing alongside the quarterback of their future in four-star signal-caller Tramell Jones Jr. For reference, the Mandarin High School standout unofficially visited during the Spring Showcase on Saturday.
The 2025 recruiting class is currently listed below the top 20 in a variety of recruiting rankings. Unfortunately, that is not the standard of the Seminoles when it comes to recruiting. However, it is still way too early with the Early Signing Period still being eight months away.
The recruiting target board could change drastically as the Florida State Seminoles look to create momentum for the future foundation of the program.
As it pertains to positions, let's discuss the wide receiver position. Position coach Ron Dugans is having to replace the likes of productive veterans such as Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Two of the Seminoles' top wide receiver prospects are starting to trend towards Ohio State in five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. and four-star Vernell Brown III. As a result, Florida State is attempting to move in other directions for targets such as four-star Daylan McCutcheon.
One interesting prospect who attended the spring showcase was four-star Koby Howard from Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida. During his previous visit, he declared that Florida State was the top school in his recruitment. After meeting with media members after his visit on Saturday for the Spring Showcase, that is still the case.
Howard received one of his first-ever offers from the Seminoles so the program holds a special place in his heart. The talented playmaker wants to make a decision soon and even has an official visit scheduled with the Seminoles when they take on the Clemson Tigers.
It will be interesting to see how Dugans shapes the wide receiver recruiting board as the Seminoles look to get as much talent as they possibly can.
