Florida State has the quarterback of its future in its 2025 recruiting class with four-star Tramell Jones Jr. from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. The coaching staff has done a tremendous job of locating and evaluating talent at the position.

For example, the Seminoles offered former Class of 2024 four-star quarterback prospect Luke Kromenhoek from Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia before he was even named the starting signal caller at his high school. Before he finished his senior season, Kromenhoek just missed out on being a five-star prospect.

It seems like there could be a bit of deja vu in this situation with Jones Jr. It is not the fact that they offered him while he was a starter before they scouted his game before other schools had the opportunity to fully grasp his potential.

This begs the following question: How highly ranked could the Jacksonville native get before he puts pen to paper? Jones Jr. is listed as the 35th-best quarterback prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings while On3 has him as the 32nd, ESPN at 11th, and Rivals at 10th.

ESPN and Rivals seem to be much higher in their liking of the Jacksonville native's development as a passer. During the 2023 season, he completed 183 of his 302 passes for 3,195 yards and 33 touchdowns with only seven interceptions.

He could elevate his ranking with another stellar campaign. It is also easier to be successful when he has the luxury of throwing to five-star wide receiver prospect Jaime Ffrench Jr., who is receiving crystal ball predictions to Ohio State.

If Jones Jr. does decide to sign with Florida State in December, it could make for an interesting 2025 quarterback competition with the likes of the young freshman, Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, and Trever Jackson. The future is certainly bright for the Seminoles at the position.
