FSU football: Top 3 storylines going into first 2024 spring scrimmage
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has its 2024 spring camp well underway with four practices complete, two in pads. Mike Norvell has been pleased with how things have transpired for the most part with 26 newcomers helping to replace a ton of talent and experience that helped carry the team over the past couple of years. The coaching staff has been heavy on the installation side, throwing a lot at the newcomers as they prepare for their first spring scrimmage on Thursday. Mike Norvell indicated a few guys will be out of the rest of spring practice. Defensive tackle Joshua Farmer and offensive lineman Robert Scott should return in the summer. Freshman defensive back Jamari Howard will not return until sometime during the season if rehabilitation goes well.
Farmer and Scott are veterans and have lots of snaps under their belt, so this will provide younger guys with the opportunity to gain more reps. It's not ideal for Howard, as the injury and time missed will put him behind the development curve as an early enrollee. The first spring scrimmage will happen on Thursday, and there will likely be a lot of situational stuff, more than an actual scrimmage. Here are three storylines to be on the lookout for coming out of the scrimmage.
