Three wishes for Florida State Seminole fans heading into the New Year that could benefit the football program.

ACQUIRE DJ UIAGALELEI

We at ChopChat have been discussing transfer quarterbacks until we have been blue in the face at this point. The depth of the position for the Seminoles is slim now because of redshirt junior Tate electing to enter the transfer portal and redshirt freshman AJ Duffy transferring to San Diego State.

Florida State will now have to navigate without the veteran Jordan Travis in their program (please come back to Tallahassee to be an assistant coach when your playing days are finished...). This is uncharted territory for the Seminoles as Travis has meant so much to this university.

However, Florida State has two transfer portal quarterbacks in mind: Washington State's Cameron Ward and Oregon State's DJ Uiagalelei. On Sunday night, the dust has finally settled regarding their decisions.

On one hand, On3 College Sports Business and Transfer Portal Reporter Pete Nakos reported that Ward is down to pick between Miami and the NFL Draft (I hope he chooses the NFL).

This would be a massive pickup for the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes. However, the Seminoles also received a positive update of their own on Sunday night as ESPN College Football Senior Writer Pete Thamel reported that Uiagalelei has emerged as Florida State's top quarterback target in the transfer portal. The talented Oregon State signal caller will be choosing between the Seminoles and the NFL.

It would be amazing for the Seminoles to get a quarterback transfer with collegiate experience. I believe that Uiagalelei would be the perfect option to put in a Mike Norvell offensive scheme.
