TE LANDEN THOMAS

As I alluded to in the introduction, Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell spoke to various media members about his 2024 recruiting signing class. One interesting tidbit of information that I thought was noteworthy was that he said that he thought four-star signee Landen Thomas was the best tight end in America.

That is a very bold statement and brings upon a ton of expectations as a true freshman. However, I can understand that the coaching staff knows what they have in Thomas considering that he was originally committed to Florida State before pledging to Georgia just to flip back to the Seminoles again (recruiting is a crazy landscape).

However, tight ends who had meaningful opportunities last season such as redshirt juniors Jaheim Bell (declaring to the 2024 NFL Draft) and Markeston Douglas (transferred to Arizona State) will not be on the Seminoles' roster in 2024.

It is expected that redshirt junior Kyle Morlock will be the starter at the position. However, who will be paired alongside him in the rotation? Fans understand how much Norvell values the tight end in his offenses.

I believe that this could be an opportunity for Thomas to shine early and often as a true freshman.
