FSU football currently ranks No. 8 in the 2024 247Sports Composite rankings, with 11 prospects committed to the class.

We at ChopChat continue our series, where we will be conducting recruiting Q&As with a variety of FSU targets/commits.

We decided to conduct a Q&A with Class of 2024 Florida State five-star tight end Landen Thomas from Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia.

As a junior, Thomas recorded 44 receptions for 753 yards and eight touchdowns.

Q: You were previously committed to FSU back in 2021. Then you committed to Georgia for roughly nine months and decided to flip your commitment back to FSU in April 2023. What went into that decision that made the Seminoles the right move for you?

A: “I just felt like going to FSU was the best move for me personally. UGA has great things going on with them, but I felt like I needed to be in Tallahassee.”

Q: You have been very vocal in recruiting four-star tight end Kylan Fox on social media. What is your relationship been like with him, and what have you been pitching him to come to FSU?

A: ”Me and Kylan have been knowing and playing against each other since we were kids in Pop Warner. Our relationship got stronger from recruiting and things like that. But I’m trying to get him, and I think he’ll eventually be a Nole.”

Q: What are looking forward to the most when you return to FSU for your official visit on June 23?

A: ”I really don’t know, to be honest I haven’t really thought about it.”

Q: What coach do you speak to the most during your recruitment?

A: ”The coach I speak to the most is Coach Thomsen, and I talk to other coaches now and then, but it’s mainly Coach Thomsen.”

Q: FSU has a talented recruiting class with prospects such as Luke Kromenhoek and Kam Davis. What is your relationship with those guys and the class as a whole?

A: “It’s a good relationship between the two. I have been knowing about Kam since I was in middle school, and being able to play on the same team as someone like that is always a plus.”

Q: What are you most excited to see from the Seminoles this season?

A: ”The most exciting thing that I’m ready to see for the Seminoles this season is how teams are going to try and stop this offense.”

We want Landen for taking the time out of his day to speak with us. You can follow him on Twitter here.
