FSU football: Noles will have hands full with Boston College QB Thomas Castellanos
By Cole Kruger
The Noles are looking to bounce back after a tough opening loss in Dublin, and they don't have an easy out for their home opener. FSU will welcome in Boston College who will be playing their first game under Bill O'Brien. Last season the Noles struggled with Boston College, after blowing a 31-10 lead going into the fourth quarter. Boston College QB Thomas Castellano is a dual threat QB who the Noles struggled with in the matchup last year.
Boston College will run a similar gameplan as Georgia Tech and the Noles severely struggled against the run in Dublin. The Noles front seven will need to improve drastically if they want to avoid another upset. They'll need better safety play as well. Castellanos accounted for 395 total yards, with 95 of those yards coming on the ground against the Noles last year. Luckily, Boston College doesn't have the same level of offensive line as Georgia Tech with two key departures to the NFL.
FSU will be juiced up to be back at home, and with the momentum from a primetime crowd in Doak, the defense, with a better run defense, should be in a position to feast as long as they make the tackles. Norvell and defensive coordinator Adam Fuller should look to put more guys in the box and shut down the running attack, forcing Castellanos to throw the ball against a talented FSU secondary.
With a home crowd and a week to look at the film from the Georgia Tech debacle, they should look a lot better than they did in Dublin. The Noles will look to get back on track with a bounce back win to quiet the naysayers.
