FSU football: Noles trending for another blue-chip QB in 2024 class?

FSU football signed one of the top prep quarterbacks in the nation when Luke Kromenhoek joined the Noles last month. FSU only had two scholarship quarterbacks going into the Orange Bowl but secured a commitment from Oregon State's DJ Uiagalelei. That's only three scholarship quarterbacks going into the 2024 spring, but it looks like FSU could add another blue-chip quarterback from the high school ranks in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Noles received a crystal ball prediction for Trever Jackson, the No. 348 player nationally and No. 22 quarterback. Jackson is from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida, and is a former Ole Miss commit. Jackson de-committed from Ole Miss in late October 2023 after committing in August 2023. His top four schools in August 2023 were UCLA, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma. He holds 28 offers and only took one official visit to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2023. Jackson is listed at 6'2.5" and 185 pounds. He's extremely raw but with high upside and was an Elite 11 Finalist last year, winning the "Rail Shot Challenge."

If FSU were to add Jackson to the mix as a commitment, it would make a ton of sense. Mike Norvell likes to carry four scholarship quarterbacks and Jackson would arrive in the summer to join the team practices. DJ Uiagalelei would be the favorite to win the starting job among the three on campus right now, but Brock Glenn has some experience, and Kromenhoek is incredibly talented. Jackson camped at FSU several times in 2022, and attended the Florida game that year in Doak Campbell Stadium. He also attended FSU's Junior Day in January 2023. FSU is familiar with Jackson, but I don't think he's been offered a scholarship yet. He completed 55 percent of his passes and ran for 855 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. I know scholarship numbers are running tight, so that could come later, or he could join the team as a preferred walk-on if he decides to commit. It's ironic FSU may get two blue-chip QBs and Miami couldn't get one.
