FSU football: Noles land MAJOR transfer target, Alabama's OL Terrence Ferguson

FSU football coaches continue to grind in the transfer portal despite the rumors of Mike Norvell and Alabama and its coaching search. The Noles added another big-time addition from the transfer portal Thursday afternoon and the third one in as many days. Former Alabama offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson, joined the climb after trending to the Noles over the past few days. He is the 11th player from the transfer portal by Mike Norvell and meets a major need on the offensive line. Ferguson was the No. 58 player overall in the 2021 recruiting cycle and the No. 2 interior offensive lineman. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining to play in Tallahassee. Ferguson visited FSU last week and lists at 6'4" and 300 pounds. He played over 100 snaps for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2023. FSU lost the likes of Casey Roddick and D'Mitri Emmanuel from the interior of its line this past season. Ferguson brings experience and depth to the position. He's the No. 131 player and No. 3 interior offensive lineman, according to 247 Sports.

This recruiting news has to give some positive thoughts to Nole fans freaking out about Mike Norvell potentially leaving. I suppose crazier things have happened, but the fact Ferguson is coming from the team with the opening would lead me to believe he wouldn't commit to a program without some reassurances the head coach isn't leaving. The same goes for the commitment FSU got from the Oregon State defensive end on Wednesday. If Mike Norvell sticks with FSU, as I believe he will, he is assembling a monster 2024 recruiting class with talent, experience, and impact players and several positions. I said in my latest podcast that FSU wasn't rebuilding, but reloading, and the latest additions from the portal continue to support that sentiment.
