FSU football: Nick Saban co-signs 2024 Noles after watching practice
By Kelvin Hunt
We've heard a lot of nonsense from some non-serious folks over the past couple of weeks as we've gotten closer to the 2024 season opener. FSU enters the 2024 preseason ranked No. 10 in the AP and the Coaches Poll. However, some media types have commented they don't believe FSU deserves that ranking and could finish the 2024 season outside the top 25. Well, someone who knows a thing or two about what elite football looks like had something to say about that. Former Alabama head coach and arguably the greatest college football coach of all time, Nick Saban, had this to say after observing FSU practicing while in Ireland this week:
The folks that knock how Mike Norvell has constructed his roster and the 23-4 record over the past two years. What do you have to say now? FSU had 10 players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft and will have close to that selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. What are we talking about here? Mike Norvell had more than proven his track record and there was a reason why Alabama tried to hire him away from FSU before settling for Kalen DeBoer. Notice Nick Saban used the word "reload" and not "rebuild" when speaking about FSU. It's a program that's built on the most solid foundation. It's a true brotherhood and why the program has ascended so quickly under Mike Norvell's guidance over the past few seasons. I firmly believe it would have happened sooner had the staff not had to deal with the pandemic in year one.
