FSU football has not secured a single transfer portal prospect in this cycle. In a previous article, I told Seminole fans to remain calm during this process because the coaching staff knew exactly what they were doing.

On Monday afternoon, the Seminoles received some great news on the transfer portal side of things as Georgia sophomore defensive end transfer Marvin Jones Jr. has received two crystal ball predictions in favor of Florida State from Noles247 Insider Brendan Sonnone and 247Sports National College Football Reporter Matt Zenitz.

This is absolutely massive as Jones Jr. is coming off his official visit this weekend with the Seminoles. The talented defensive end transfer is the son of legendary Florida State linebacker Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones Sr., who played with the Seminoles from 1990-1992.

This was a prospect that Seminole fans have been clamoring for quite some time. However, the former five-star prospect elected to sign with the Georgia Bulldogs. While Florida State has been fortunate to have defensive ends such as Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, Jared Verse, and Patrick Payton, the Seminoles need to acquire more talent at the position.

It seems as though redshirt sophomore Patrick Payton will take one of the starting positions at the defensive end spot. While redshirt junior defensive end Jared Verse has not announced his intentions to the NFL, it feels as though that decision could be coming soon.

Jones Jr. has not done much during his two-year playing career with the Bulldogs where he only registered 16 total tackles and two sacks. However, the talented transfer was seen as a rotational piece in Georgia's defensive unit.

If he were to come to Tallahassee, this could allow Jones Jr. to capitalize on a starting opportunity as well as make a name for himself for the National Football League.
