Florida State was embarrassed by the Boston College Eagles by a score of 28-13 on Labor Day night. The Seminoles now fall to 0-2 on the season after Florida State was projected to win the conference in the preseason, according to Vegas odds makers.

Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell started his post-game media session, by apologizing to the team, the fan base, and everyone associated with the university. The truth of the matter is that actions speak louder than words.

The Seminoles have lost back-to-back games as a double-digit favorite to start the season. With the two ACC losses, Florida State have almost certainly eliminating their chance of accomplishing their dreams and aspirations of making the conference championship and even the College Football Playoff.

These nine months since the Seminoles were left out of the College Football Playoff last year have been rough. I realize that individuals can point the finger at specific issues, but as I mentioned, it all starts at the top with Norvell.

Changes need to be made to put the Seminoles back in contention regarding where they want to be. Will the football team self-implode or will they fight for each other and salvage everything they have for the betterment of the squad?

I did not believe that rock bottom could happen again in terms of 2021 when Florida State lost to FCS opponent Jacksonville State and started the year with an 0-4 record. However, the Seminoles could be in for an even worse situation under a coaching staff that has been at the helm for five years.

Norvell always emphasizes the importance of responding to adversity. This football team is at the point where they have doubters from the college football media to even the fan base.

Fans will be fans. They have every right to be upset. The Seminoles now have to turn their attention to the bye week before they take on a high-powered Memphis team. Nonetheless, when the going gets tough, I will be there in Doak Campbell Stadium cheering on this squad because I know that they will need the support more than anything.

It is time to get to work and get 1% better every day.
