Southern Methodist blew out the FSU Seminoles Saturday night after a competitive first half. The Mustangs led 14-9 at halftime and used multiple turnovers from DJ Uiagalelei to pull away in the second half for a 42-16 win. Uiagalelei threw three interceptions(only two were his fault). He was 12 of 23 for 222 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
The FSU offense looked like it had some life on its second drive, scoring a touchdown to tie the game 7-7. However, it was the only offensive score in the first half. FSU got a safety when the SMU center hiked the ball over their punter's head and went out of the end zone.

I'd fire Mike for cause. Cause this is unfathomably awful.

We should come up with an excuse to not play the rest of the season

Well, always love my Noles but there are profound problems with this team and with the program. This could be an even bigger challenge for CMN than the mess he inherited. His culture is infected with something. Has to find a cure. Will surely require introspection and change.

Offense, defense, special teams, the coaches, the bus driver, the damn fish. Trash. Everybody.
I’m just mad.. please ignore me.
The turning point in the game was on FSU's first drive in the second half. DJ Uiaglalei threw a perfect strike that hit tight end Kyle Morlock square in his hands, only for the ball to go up in the air to get intercepted. SMU scored a touchdown three plays later to push their lead to 21-9. The FSU offense went three-and-out and SMU pushed its lead to 28-9.
FSU managed to cut the lead to 28-16 and got a three-and-out on defense, but a bogus facemask call gave the ball right back to the SMU offense. That was the game as the FSU defense pretty much quit, and who could blame them after how poorly the offense played?
SMU had 467 total yards and was 8 of 15 on third downs.
FSU couldn't get out of its way. They committed dumb penalties, and several were by upperclassmen. Brock Glenn came into the game after Uiagalelei suffered a finger injury in the fourth quarter. He didn't look much better and was under constant duress.
This FSU team is awful and likely won't make a bowl game after going undefeated in the 2023 regular season. That's inexcusable.
