FSU football fans had to wait longer than expected for an FSU player to hear their name called in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, it couldn't be any sweeter to know it was Jordan Travis getting the call in the fifth round by the New York Jets with the No. 171 pick overall. He joins former FSU standout defensive end Jermaine Johnson in the Big Apple!
That’s our QB

Jordan Travis was once a QB we were all frustrated with. The program was down so bad and we were starving for success. Once he got a coach the showed true belief in him he shined. One of the best to ever do it at Florida State. Pivotal part of our resurgence.

Love that pick by the Jets, getting Jordan Travis at #171 in R5. He led FSU to undefeated season, was Heisman candidate & Seminoles were on their way to CFB Playoff before he broke his leg late in the season. A year recovering & studying under Aaron Rodgers will do him wonders.

Jordan Travis might be the biggest turnaround I've ever seen from a college quarterback. Travis went from someone that no one gave a shot of getting drafted just a few years ago to someone critics began to question why he was still on the board in the fifth round. I have no doubt he would have gotten drafted higher had he not suffered the injury that ended his FSU career late in the 2023 season. Travis went from an athlete who ran around and created plays to a full-fledged quarterback who looked to pass first and run second at the end of his FSU career. He goes into a great situation with the NY Jets. He can sit behind veterans Aaron Rogers and Tyrod Taylor for a year or two to gain valuable experience for potentially taking over a team, who has several nice pieces. Travis ranks among the all-time greats at FSU on and off the field and is largely responsible for the major turnaround in the program after several dark seasons.
Jordan Travis is the seventh FSU football player drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He's the first FSU quarterback selected since Jameis Winston was the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Mike Norvell and the coaching staff deserve a lot of credit for developing that young man. However, it's a testament to all the hard work he put into the process as well.
