Now that the FSU football roster is essentially finalized following some additions from the transfer portal, it feels like a good time to break down the depth chart. I considered doing this after spring camp but figured FSU would likely take a few more players from the transfer portal in the spring window. FSU didn't add or lose as many players as most thought they would during the spring transfer window, and here's what it means for our 2024 depth chart projections for the Noles.

Quarterback

Starter: DJ Uiagalelei

Top Backups: Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, Trevor Jackson

FSU needed depth and experience in the worst way, with Jordan Travis exhausting eligibility and Tate Rodemaker entering the transfer portal. The Noles couldn't afford to enter the 2024 season with two scholarship quarterbacks with only two career starts among them. FSU courted two talented quarterbacks with multiple years of starting experience and settled on former Clemson and Oregon State's DJ Uiagalelei. He gives the Noles an excellent shot to make the College Football Playoff while allowing Glenn and Kromenhoek to get valuable practice reps without the pressure to win while inexperienced. Trevor Jackson was a blue-chip walk-on with some promise, but still raw. The offense will be run-heavy with a vertical attack, and don't be surprised to see Uiagalelei in the run quite a bit.
