Continued Emphasis On Florida and Georgia Recruiting Area in 2025

Nearly two years ago, I wrote about how the coaching staff were emphasizing Florida and Georgia recruiting more as the pandemic ended, and they began to build relationships with coaches in those two states. At the time (January 28, 2022), the coaching staff offered 121 players from Georgia and Florida(2023 class), representing 46 percent of the total. FSU signed one top 100 player(Hykeem Williams) in the 2023 recruiting class, with Lucas Simmons just outside the top 100 at No. 109. Fast forward, and FSU has sent offers to 106 players located in Florida and Georgia (48 percent of the total amount).

FSU football winning 10 games in the 2022 season was a major catalyst in FSU taking the next step in seeing the improvement in high school recruiting, class over class. FSU went from one top 100 player overall to three top 100 players (and had several more top 100 players before updated rankings saw some players slide). One major difference is we see FSU in the mix for way more top players than in the past few years. FSU beat Georgia for players like Luke Kromenhoek, Landen Thomas, and Kameron Davis. They beat USC, Miami, Florida, LSU, and Ohio State for players in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
