FSU football has already acquired two transfers in the portal this offseason with Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr.

While those two transfers are noteworthy, the coaching staff is far from finished when securing more talented players for this roster in 2024. Florida State is riding high on their positive momentum of the 2023 season where they finished with an undefeated regular season and won the ACC Championship. While fans are rightfully frustrated with the College Football Playoff committee's decision to leave them out of the invitational, the Seminoles still have a lot to offer.

Defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. was a former five-star prospect that Florida State missed out on during his recruiting process. He felt as though it was the best choice to play for the Bulldogs. However, after his two-year playing career with Georgia, he felt the best opportunity was to come to his father's alma mater (linebacker Marvin Jones Sr. who played with the Seminoles from 1990-1992) and play under the guidance of head football coach Mike Norvell and company.

The coaching staff has now encountered another player, cornerback Earl Little Jr., who played for a prestigious program in the Alabama Crimson Tide. Florida State remained a huge player in his recruitment before he chose to play for head football coach Nick Saban.

The former four-star defender has now entered the transfer portal in hopes of earning more playing time. According to a report from The Osceola, Little Jr. will be officially visiting the Seminoles this weekend.

For reference, Florida State defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. was Little Jr's head football coach while he was attending American Heritage High School. While the Seminoles do not desperately need depth at the cornerback position with Azareye'h Thomas likely taking a step forward in his role, it is never a bad thing to stack talent in a roster for the future.
