Florida State football recruiting for the 2025 cycle has seemed to slow down a bit as the Seminoles secured the services of four-star wide receiver Malik Clark from Rock Hill, South Carolina on July 25th. The Seminoles currently rank as the 18th-best recruiting class according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Understandably, recruiting has taken a back seat as Florida State is preparing for its 2024 season opener versus Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland at noon EST on ESPN.

However, the coaching staff never stops recruiting for the future foundation of the program. Recruiting never sleeps as college football is a 12-month cycle where coaches are relied upon more than ever to multitask throughout the different seasons.

One prospect that the Seminoles are trying to land during the 2025 recruiting cycle is four-star running back Byron Louis from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Louis's high school is playing Milton High School (the school four-star wide receiver commit CJ Wiley goes to) on ESPN tonight. SportsCenter NEXT's Twitter (X) account featured Louis on a long touchdown run versus Milton High School.

As you can see in the video, the talented running back shows a display of speed as he scampers into the end zone. The Seminoles have a knack for finding skilled playmakers at the position. During the 2024 recruiting cycle, they landed four-star prospects Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy.

After this season, current players on the roster such as Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and Roydell Williams will no longer be in the garnet and gold. This is why I believe it is important for Florida State to get Louis in the fold.

The American Heritage High School standout is teammates with four-star cornerback commit Gregory "Zae" Thomas. Both are them are close friends who have a great relationship with one another.

On Friday afternoon, the running back announced that he was down to four schools: Florida State, Miami, Georgia, and Wisconsin. He also set his commitment date for September 21st.

Louis is currently trending in favor of Florida State by multiple analysts. He was once considered an Ohio State lean. However, the Buckeyes went after other prospects. The Seminoles were able to get his last official visit of the summer as he visited on the massive June 21st weekend.

It is noteworthy to state that Florida State plays California at home on September 21st. Could we see Louis visit during the game and commit to the university where he would reunite with his high school teammate (Gregory "Zae" Thomas) and former head football coach (defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr)?
