FSU football coaches have had a busy spring getting acclimated to 26 newcomers. The staff had some talented high school players who enrolled this spring, and several transfer portal additions. There's a buzz in the air with the transfer portal officially re-opening this week, and FSU has seen two departures from the roster. FSU wide receiver Joshua Burrell declared weeks ago and officially entered recently, and defensive back Greedy Vance officially entered the portal this week. Some FSU fans get anxious about the portal and potentially losing guys.

However, it's a new era and the nature of the beast when acquiring top-tier talent from the high school ranks and transfer portal. FSU reportedly can't contact players in the portal this week because of NCAA sanctions levied last year dating back to the Amarius Mims recruitment. However, FSU will be able to contact players next week. They still have to get under the 85 scholarship limit, and likely plan to add a few players. That means there will be some turnover on the roster. Here are three thoughts on transfer portal recruiting.
